The following article describes the steps necessary to setup your Slack account to receive notifications from UVexplorer.

1. Sign in to Slack using your credentials: Slack Sign In

2. Navigate to the Slack apps page by visiting https://api.slack.com/apps.

3. Click the “Create New App” button, then select “From scratch.”

4. Provide a name for your app (e.g., UVexplorer) and choose the workspace you wish to attach it to.

  • Click “Create App” to proceed.
  • Note: Each app can be associated with only one workspace, unless you set up OAuth 2.0 and redistribute your app. For multiple workspaces, consider creating separate Slack apps.

5. Once on the app configuration page, under the “Features” section in the sidebar, locate and click on “Incoming Webhooks.”

6. Toggle the “Activate Incoming Webhooks” option from OFF to ON.

7. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Add New Webhook to Workspace.”

  • Choose the desired channel(s) to attach your webhook to, then click “Allow.”
  • Repeat this step for each channel you wish to send notifications to.

8. Back on the Incoming Webhooks configuration page, locate your newly created webhook URLs. Copy them for future use.

9. Open UVexplorer, select a Scheduled Discover, and navigate to Events tab.  Enable "Send Slack notification..."

10. In the textbox labeled “Channel Webhook URLs,” paste or enter the webhook URLs you copied earlier.

  • Separate multiple URLs with commas, spaces, semicolons, or new lines.
  • Click “Save” to confirm.

11. Your scheduled discovery will now send notifications to the the saved webhook URLs
